My local tackle shop has a new sea fishing boat that we plan to use for some of this summers trips, so on 2nd of january with temperatures near 20ºC we booked a trip to sample both the fishing and get to know the boat and its skipper.

We steamed out 10 miles at 25 knots in this very nice £100,000 pound boat, the english speaking skipper took us to 3 secret rocky marks where we had none stop action all day.

On this trip we were just testing things out and just fished for whatever came along, but on future trips we will be doing things differently. The boat and skipper have a very good license which will allow us to operate at greater range targeting 100lb grouper in deep water using braid and electric reels, as well as big game fishing for marlin and tuna.

The skipper has seen monster hammerhead sharks a long way out and fishing closer to home we will be going out after our bread and butter blue sharks, night fishing for conger is also planned.

So all in all we have a very good looking sea fishing opportunity and itinerary planned for those of you are interested in sea fishing off the Portuguese coast.
